The Samaritans is known as 'the suicide charity'. In fact, you don't have to be suicidal to call the Samaritans. What Samaritans actually does is to provide a confidential and non-threatening environment, available 24/7, where those who are worried, distressed or despairing, or experiencing feelings, which may lead to self-harm, or suicide.

This forum is made up of people who use community care services, their carers and people who are regularly in touch with users and carers, e.g. representatives of relevant voluntary & statutory organisations. By carers, we mean people who look after a friend, relative or neighbour (not as a paid job) due to illness, age or disability.
